Trail Closure Information

On Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the Angeles National Forest updated their Eaton Fire Closure Order for the San Gabriel Mountains front country North of the Altadena, CA area. The order states:

Forest Order: 05-01-25-05 

The Angeles National Forest, which includes the San Gabriel Mountains National Monument, will partially reopen on Thursday, January 30. Two areas, or a grand total of 17% of the forest, will remain temporarily closed for public safety and natural recovery of the landscape after the Eaton and Bridge fires. The following popular biking and hiking trails and forest roads are closed: Idlehour, Sunset Ridge, Ken Burton, El Prieto, Sam Merrill (Lower, Middle & Upper), Brown Mountain Rd, Mt Lowe Rd, Mt Wilson Toll Rd and more.
